Vegas 6 Wont Open My Veg File!need Urgent Help!!!!!

I have just got a new computer and i have installed vegas onto it - i had it on my previous sytem too.
I have been working on a project for two weeks and kept all the relevant files for that project on an external hard drive - all the work was carried out on the old computer (which i no longer have!) I was then wanting to finish the project on my new computer so i connected the external hard drive and loaded up vegas to open the VEG file but instead it reads COM FAILED TO INITIALIZE. It does however open up all of my other VEG files on the external hard drive - I am desperate as it is for a client and i have spent two weekes working on it and cant see how i would have the time to re do it or have the heart!

Try renaming the file and then opening. Like "ClientFile" becomes "ClientFile1". I had a similar issue once and this fixed it although I don't know why. Good luck!
