Well...we know which page we'll be using, right?
This is the url I got from their opt-in mailing. I can't access it from where I am (damn corporate firewalls  ), but the e-mail says $199.95 until May 31st. After that, it's going to be $249.95. Proof of prior software ownership is required to participate.

It's credit-card time!

I think if you have bought v5 in the last 30 days then the upgrade is free. I,m expecting v5 from UPS at any moment and I'll be able to confirm this. I talked to Sony and they said all they need is a copy of the v5 receipt and they will issue a new serial. Like I said I will let you know how it goes.

Welp, I just dove into 6 for a little bit today. I can tell you right now, that nested timelines and some of the related features to the nested time lines is pretty sweet. It sure would have saved me a lot of time.
Other than that, I'm not seeing too much else. Cosmetically, it is exactly the same, except for the new media manager.
It seems slightly faster than before, but it could just be because I am looking for it to be faster.
I havn't seen any cool new features like 5 added over 4, like the whole 3D track thing, I guess the nested timelies is great, but other than that I was looking for some more goodies, like Dual camera workflow built into vegas. OVerall it is solid, and the nested timelies is worth the upgrade alone, not to mention the new features of DVDA3. Here is a screenshot.

You can see the new media manager which is pretty cool.

Dude, that picture is too big!

Can you tell me, with the new Media Manager, is there an easy way to have only results relating to your current project show up. I'm playing with the demo at the moment, and the media management looks AWESOME but it seems to work on the concept that you have a library of media that you can search to use. When I make a project, while I might use some sound etc that is not just for that project, most all my video files are just what I capture. So I dno't want to tag them like "CU" etc, and when I select CU, get all the CU's I've had on previous projects, just this one. Just asking, haven't had time to read the manual or anything yet.

Sorry about the picture size. Yes I am using dual monitors, and I am working on an HD project, which vegas handles pretty good.
As for the media manager, you can set up media librarys, and search from in there, I think that's how it works. I havn't messed with it yet, but it seems pretty intuitive.

OK, so I'd have to set up a media library for each project I want to do, so that I'm only searching that stuff. Hopefully I can nest them, so I can drop in my "Loops" library and have that inside my "arty movie that will make me famous" library.

I e-mailed my receipt this morning and called on the phone. The guy helpmed me out and e-mailed me the new serials within minutes . Piece of cake.

-SonyVegas- So far so good!!

My hat is off to Sony! I purchased the Vegas 5 Suite <1 mo ago and they are shipping me the Vegas6+ DVD at no cost. Great customer support. Lookin' forward to it.

I have to say, I really, really like the new scrubbing feature. Soooo smooth.

The media management looks to be a vast, vast improvement. I will have to explore that over the weekend.

I desperately want to buy Vegas 6 & DVDA 3, but I thought to test DVDA 3 first to see if it would recognize my dual layer burner. I can't even get that far as DVDA 3 keep crashing when I hit "next" after selecting the sample folder they have online to render.

Sucks butt, big time. I have tech support trying to figure it out but so far they're clueless, and that's even after sending them the error/exception code that was listed in detail.

DRAT!
