Vegas 5 vs. PPRo 1.5 for Feature Film

Not looking to start a war here - I own both and like them. Here are the advantages I have found:

Vegas 5
1. Easy to learn
2. Smoother playback requiring less system resources for previewing/rendering real-time footage.
3. Extensive color correction capabilities.
4. Excellent audio capabilities.

PPro 1.5
1. Smooth integration w/ other Adobe products
2. Nested timelines/sequences
3. Auto color correction/levels

It seems to me that for short projects (Music Videos, Weddings, Short Films, etc.) Vegas 5 would be a no-brainer.

For longer projects (such as a Feature Film) PPro 1.5 would be a better choice if only for the nested timeline ability. I know you can open up multiple instances of Vegas 5, but that doesn't seem practical for every scene.

I'm looking to edit a feature film. I'm leaning towards doing all the primary cutting in PPro 1.5 and bringing the whole thing into Vegas 5 to lay down the sound tracks. My system is a P4 3.2 Ghz. Would like to hear of other opinions regarding this workflow.

Thanks in advance.

Honestly, what you're considering isn't such a bad way to go (though it's kind of expensive). If it fits your workflow, then what the heck -- it works for you.

There are workarounds for Vegas concerning the nesting; you can render out AVIs of scenes and bring them into your "master" timeline (which you're going to want to do anyway before you try to render the whole thing as one piece); if you save them as separate projects, you can always go back and change anything in that mixed-down scene. And if you render again to the same file, the changes will automatically appear in your master timeline.
