Vegas 5 upgrade

I just wanted some opinions on whether the upgrade from Vegas 5 to 7 (with DVD of course) is worth it.

I don't have an HD cam, and don't plan on getting one for a while, the only feature that is apealing, that I know of, is using nesting. What about DVD Arch?

Thanks everyone.

BennisHahn, I would really appreciate that. I'm tempted to just upgrade, but it seemed more geared toward HD. So Im sure you know what I'm talking about.

I don't know what buttons imbedded in the video means...yet, quick search will fix that. But it sounds like it would easily impress more clients when doing videography.

had 5 just got 7 in the mail today. 7 is NICE.

IT says it supports Sony MXF files. of course thats not Panasonic MXF file compatible right? Maybe we can trick it.........???? lol

either way, it has what seems to be a little bit more advanced CC capability. the secondary color corrector for example made a somewhat smoother luma mask than #5 did. at least to my eyes.

Timeline nesting. and DVD arch4 like David said, is worlds better. But i liek the new media manager. it has organisation bins like FCP, with different takes and categories for locked shots, tracking, reverse angels cutaways etc. pretty cool.
Granted i used to make them by hand, with just folders, but this time its embedded in the program. thats very nice. Also its less buggy; the 16:9 footage shows full aspect, instead of squished like it did on Veg5. And it seems to run a bit smoother. not much though. it makes M4p's, MP4's (H.264) files. ( as stated on the box) and it ingests a few extra formats like h.264.

Still doesnt have native 24P 720PHDV only 25P and 30P. Which is LAME. IT does however have 1080 24P output. ( weird?)

Thats all ive noticed so far. i liek it. worth the extra 150$ in my book for DVDarch upgrades alone.
