vegas 5.0 won't detect my DVX

I don't know what the hell i'm doing wrong or if I'm just missing something. I hooked up two other DV cameras via firewire and vegas captured/detected them fine. With my dvx no it's no dice.

Is there a menu setting I'm missing on the DVX or something

If your other DV cameras are recognized, capture your DVX footage through one of them. It's better for your DVX not to use it for capture or playback, anyway.

There shouldn't be any menu setting. Perhaps the port on your DVX isn't functioning? Try connecting the DVX directly to another camera, both in VTR mode -- each camera's display should say "DV IN" and you should be able to play a tape on the DVX and have it show up in the other camera's LCD. If that doesn't happen, perhaps you have either a bum cable or a bad port.

Hmm. Well, I had heard of a problem that Microsoft actually acknowledged, though it didn't happen to everyone. I've never captured from my DVX, so I have no personal knowledge of it.
