Vegas 5.0 + DVD

I just bought Vegas 5.0 plus DVD, read the manuals and discovered I still don't have a clue. I got the easy stuff OK but the stuff that makes these programs special (especially with DVD and sound forge) elude me. Where can I find some plain english support that don't involve flying to other states, mortgaging my home or spending a few months in class. I have a DVX100a and bought Vegas because it will edit 24pa.
