Vegas 11 Pro -- Won't Open!

I am now having a perplexing problem. When I click Vegas 11 Pro, NOTHING happens...no splash page, etc. The program just won't launch.

Running Windows 7 32-bit. I have previously run Vegas 7 & 8 on this laptop. Last year I got the 11 upgrade.

I have tried uninstalling the program, cleaning the system registry, and reinstalling the latest build - but it has not solved the problem.

Anyone else out there have any ideas?

Thanks for your reply.

I finally got Vegas to run, but only after COMPLETELY DELETING/REFORMATTING THE HARD DRIVE and re-installing Windows 7 (and all other programs) from scratch. Several hours of work...

Granted, the laptop is four years old and has benefited from the fresh install of Windows. But it would've been nice if there had been a less drastic solution!

Thanks David, I believe I did try using the free version of "CC Cleaner" on the laptop registry, to no avail. I exhausted every avenue before breaking out the nuclear launch codes... (The hard drive is solid state, BTW, but I don't see any reason that would make a difference.)

Oh well... In the end, it was undeniably helpful to get four years of junk off that laptop.

Okay, I am having this problem AGAIN - on a different PC (desktop).

I have a registered copy of Vegas, which I purchased originally from B&H, with updates bought from Sony directly.

When I click to open the software, NOTHING HAPPENS.

I have a clean hard drive - fresh install of Windows 7, etc.

What am I doing wrong?
