Vegas 11- How to add borders? (Nt as basic as it sounds)

So if I resize the media to be smaller lets say like a small imagine amoungst many, using event FX, the border effect only is added around the entire screen, not the resized media. My work around was to apply border to Media FX, it then is applied around the resized media. BUT now everything i put into the timeline from that clip is now bordered.

Anybody else know another way outside of AE or rendering separate clips?

Thanks.

??? Have you perhaps applied the FX to the Track? If you only want it to apply to one Event, then you should apply it to that Event.

I think I did a horrible job explaining what I am trying to do. So there is a scene where u freeze a bunch of parts from different clips and then resize them individually to create a montage of photos. I wanna add the white border to each resized clip so it looks like a photo. Adding it to that individuals event FX has the border around the entire screen, not around the actual clip on the screen. By using Media FX for each clip, it does add the white border around the actual clip. However, if I later try and make a different clip from the same footage somewhere else, it also has the white border.

If you're using Pro 9 or lower, you need to click the little arrow (Pre/Post Toggle) next to the word Border in the FX window timeline.
If you're using Pro 10 or newer, in the Video Event FX window, drag the Border FX tab so that it's before (to the left) of the Pan/Crop tab.
