Vegas 10: No video files show in Import

Hi,

I just installed Vegas 10 trial. When I go to File | Import, then browse to a folder where I have .mov, .mpg, .avi,...etc. but no video files show in the dialog. When I select all files types form the drop-down menu and open a file , it's giving me an error "file format not supported"

I must be missing something here, any help?

I tried so many, but can give two examples:
1. For 640x480 25fps progressive footage, I chose Internet 480 25p in video properties
2. For 640X480 27.97fps progressive footage, I chose Internet 480 30p in video properties

None worked.

But regardless the format/codec of the video, should I not see common wrapper extension like avi mpg in Import dialog? Currently, options for file types in Import dialog are all Vegas project file related file types, no avi or mpg listed in the drop-down menu.

Do I need to install something extra, or enable something?
 
Probably at you misses in system Apple[SUP]®[/SUP] QuickTime[SUP]®[/SUP] 7.1.6 or later ?
Use for analysis MediaInfo and result lay out as the text!
You have installed the professional the version vegas or Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum?
In any case QuickTime[SUP]®[/SUP] 7.1.6 mandatory!

I have Quicktime player 7.6.9 installed. I also have Media Player Classic installed and it can play those files that I am trying to import into Vegas. Doesn't that mean I have the necessary codecs? Maybe not the best codecs, but at least to open common format video files.

It's very frustrating to get stuck at a very simple, first step in the process.

I have this problem too. Cannot import any media! But more importantly I cannot uninstall. I get an error code 2324 and the uninstall stops.

I'm very very stuck.
