Vegas 10 freezing: a problem and a solution

Hi all,
Posting this here to provide a record of an issue I had, and the solution.

I have been editing a music video and suddenly started having issues. The file would open up ok, but would exhibit the following:

• Many tracks wouldn't show their thumbnails
• Not all Markers would display their digits
• Deleting a snippet would freeze Vegas
• Rendering would freeze part way through
• Sometimes resizing a snippet would freeze Vegas
• Vegas would ultimately Freeze regardless of what I did after about 3-5 minutes

This is a music video so I have tons of tracks - approximately 25, and tons of Markers.
I tried all kinds of things... rebooting Vegas, rebooting my PC, shutting down all other programs, re-versioning the VEG file. My PC is pretty beefy - Core i7, 12gb RAM, GTX 465 video card.

I noticed that the Markers that did have digits all maxed out at 99. There were numerous other Markers without digits.

I deleted all Markers, saved the VEG and rebooted Vegas. It worked!
I started adding Markers... they worked!

So... I am pretty sure that Vegas starts to freeze up at > 99 Markers.

Something you may want to check if you start having issues.

According to the Help file, Vegas has a limit of 99 Markers.
