Vasst Victor Milt "Nanolight"

Anyone else ever see/hear of this? I was watching the Vasst "Light it Right" DVD - actually a really good DVD for all to consider, since he's actually accounting largely for Soft flourescent sources - but the neat thing is this "nanolight" contraption of his.

Has anyone else actually used it here?

No prob High8, also try victormilt.com he has a supply list for the nano light - I already have some standard fixtures but I think I might make one of these just to compare quality. Its strange though I'm pretty sure the lights he's using have like an 82 CRI...I mean he got them from Home Depot for chrissakes. But looking at the "Light it Right" DVD I didn't notice any poor color renditioning , flicker or anything. He's a pro of course so he might have worked around it.

Is the sub-85 CRI less of an issue when you're dealing with a screw in flo rather than a ballast driven flo?

Sorry about the long delay in responding - the nano light hasn't been the only DIY project I've been working on, I just got the flo's in for a larger light setup I'm building so I've been doing those.

Ok, so the nanolight is basically a portable light solution at roughly 2' X 3' in size. You fold it open, screw in your compact flos' and go. The sides the fold open pretty much can double as barn doors, and while the material is reflective enough, if you wanted you could add some reflective foil or something to bounce more of the light outside of the box. Its made of materials you'd find at an art store, you build it so that it can mount on a stand - but its pretty much light enough to hold or carry if necessary.
