Varizoom Support, or lack thereof?

Has anyone had any success in contacting Varizoom through their contact email addresses that are on their site?

I, and my mate (Director), have sent 10 emails over the past two weeks trying to get some info on how to balance the flowpod + dv sportster vest with the HVX and haven't had one reply.

Maybe a should try a carrier pigeon (ala Ghost Dog).

Pete.

I've had maybe half a dozen interactions with them via e-mail, and they always answered my messages within a day or so.

Is it possible that a spam filter is killing their messages?

I just sent this email to steve. I'll post the reply when I get it as it might be of use to fellow forum members.

"Hi, I was given this email address by Tom through the HVX forum. I have been trying to setup a HVX200 (Panasonic) camera on the flowpod and I am having difficulties with the balance. At the moment we have three black weights (the only ones we have) attached as low as is possible on the shaft and it is still top heavy (in the swing test as per the manual) which would lead me to believe that we probably need some more ballast (weight) at the bottom.

But! When we attach the flowpod with HVX + the three weight configuration to the DV Sporster vest, and our vest has got the large central black spring + two smaller silver springs attached, it is already sitting parallel to the ground with the tension set at maximum. If we add more weight to make the flowpod balanced for the weight of the HVX, I'm concerned that the vest will become useless due to a too great a weight load for the spring setup. The flowpod claims to be rated to a max load of 9Lbs which even with some more weight attached the HVX will still be under, whereas the DV Sporster vest is rated at camcorders up to 7Lbs, but is that 7lbs including the weight of the Flowpod as well?

Any help, insight, or advice you can give would be much appreciated as we had hoped to be able to use this piece of kit on a feature being shot 2nd week of Jan 07.

Peter Orland"
