Varizoom MC100 Tilt Drift

I am having trouble with my tilt motor on my Varizoom MC100 motorized head. I have no camera on the plate itself. When I tilt the plate forward or backwards from the joystick controller it drifts down from the weight of the plate itself I think. I have calibrated the motors via inside the joystick controller box. I certainly can't place an 18lbs camera on it if it can't even hold it's own weight. I know I have to balance everything once I get camera mounted on plate but this is just the raw plate. When I tilt the plate and stop the plate should stay in place no matter where the plate is. Do theses motors have brakes in them? Is mine worn out? Just curious if anyone has had this issue with any motorized head. Varizoom is at NAB for a week and not answering calls/emails until they return. I have called dealers. I have searched the internet/YouTube.
