Just got a varizoom rock zoom focus controller.
Very nice unit, but the sensitivity of the focus control is pretty hard to deal with.. This even has the large wheel, but still my unit has the first 25% and last 25% (or so) doesn't do anything.. Trying to get the focus to move one notch is almost impossible. Is this the same for everyone?? (maybe I got a bad unit?)
If this is the case, has anyone tried swapping out the pot with something that would allow more accuate adjustment? I haven't opened the unit, but I've seen schematics for building a home made, and I'm guessing it's just a resistance pot? So I figure there's a good possibility it could be replaced with something that would do the job better??
Or perhaps as simple as adding a resistor in parallel with the pot to smooth the adjustment??
Anyone know the resistance values that the hvx responds to?
