VariZoom DSLR Rig shots

Here are some shots that better show flexibility of the ZG Rig some with dslr camera mounted. You can see with the various images that you can take the Zero Gravity Rig and adjust the shoulder support to rest on operators' the left shoulder and use their left eye.

It also accommodates a bunch of mounted accessories if needed.

Phil, I think about 15 pounds camera and maybe a pound or two on accessory mounts.

If you notice the curved rod that supports the Zero Gravity system this allows you to mount the camera balance it and then rotate the tilt to any position with zero drag required. This is all part of the patent pending system that has many adjustments. The parts that are not black are stainless steel.

Sexy beast, i love supports that look like they're from "Aliens" Does the curved rod interfere with panning and tilting , does hit the chest area, it seems like it might. Similar in design, I had a PAG ORBITER but just recently sold it due to it's 9.9lb weight restriction. I did like it alot, it turned sideways for tracking shots, etc and did full tilts. But its counter balance was questionable.

Now, is the ZG RIG targeted just for the emerging DLSR market? Or will we be able to possibly add a EX series, HVX. , etc to the mix and better yet could the ZG RIG support one with a DOF adapter? I will be picking up a GH1 later in the fall for B roll and wonder if the ZG RIG would work on both camera systems.

All of us out there with DOF rig would love a handheld support rig such as the HIPCAM , yet with out the $2,000 price tag. Very cool looking support! Cheers

No the curved rod is part of the unique system that allows tilts that are independent of the operator but also because of our unique balancing system you can tilt and let go and it will hold any position. I have every HD and Dv camera in house and the EX, HVX, DVX, XL series , JVC 100 all can be fitted perfectly.

This has been one of the toughest mechanical devices I have designed and it has many adjustable parts which is why it is also so expensive to manufacture. The price will go to at least $1,199. in the near future. But even at $1,199. it is relatively low cost for the amount it cost to manufacture.

It really has to be tried and tested to be appreciated fully. Most of these type devices look the same 10' feet away. Our new patent pending system which allows you to adjust the two axes is not all that obvious but when you try it on there is a definite wow factor.

We will have it at Cinegear I believe with an EX1 or similar size cameras.

The pic below is a first production unit before anodize. Notice the camera tilt is about center of lens rather than 3-4" below center.

I would really love to see a demo video or a review video. I think a video would help people better understand just how it works. I would also really like to see some sample footage from the camera along with a second camera filming the operator of the rig to see how the shots were achieved. This could be a great product but you have to market it with video demos!

I agree it needs a video big time.

We have them all over Los Angeles at this time. I will try to get that out within the next couple weeks or maybe do a simple video off the Mac.

Okay I got the Canon 5dMark2 and it works really well on the new ZG Rig. You can even direct your film while wearing the rig or make a grocery list.
