Tom,
Is there anymore free play in the 2 cables just before they attach to the HVX than in the standard cable.
I'm very happy with the operation of my Varizoom, but found it pretty hard to twist those plugs into the HVX. Unfortunately these new ones look the same.
For me to get a good connection I have to put one of the rt angle connectors upside down and there's just not much extra play on the cable. I'm afraid it will develop a short as it is. My buddy couldn't do it at all (and was going to return the Varizoom altogether) until I showed him to turn one upside down. Are we the only guys having this problem?

Haven't you noticed it?

Your picture shows the large wheel for the focus. Does this deal include this, and if so, where do we order?

Lenilenapi,

It is tight but I have never seen anyone put them in as you have described and I can imagine that would take every bit of slack there is in that Y .

I hold the connectors parallel to one another with one slightly lower than the other and push them in together. I believe I have done it that way on both DVX100B and HVX200.

I use right angle connectors on the ends of the extension cables and there is just enough room and I thought, until your post, only one way to connect it.

I could have used straight connectors and they would be easier to get in but much more hazardous as the straight connectors break easily when bumped or a cord is yanked. The right angle connectors, although a little tough to put in, goes along way to protect the camera from the connector getting broke off in the camera.

Thanks for the post. I am leaving for a week but will check it out when I return.

Saddler,

You will need to call in your order direct to VariZoom for the combo and it will be for a limited time. Most people prefer the all in one RockPZFI or Stealth PZFI but I went a little heavy on making these individual controls. This forum is the only place I have seen so much interest in the seperate individual controls.

It will include the big wheel but only if you ask for it when you order.
