Varizoom 7" LCD, Viable option for focus, or waste?

Wouldn't help much. Need to be VGA input at minimum. Get something like a Lilliput 7" VGA off eBay or elsewhere for around $280, a Lik-Sang or similiar component to VGA converter, something like an Israeli Arm and you're set. This is a set-up I discovered here on the forum and through not HD, it works great for focus. The composite output of the camera looks terrible. This thread

has a lot of info. I think it was Larry who had the Lilliput idea working and I love it. I've got a Bescor battery for the monitor and a smaller Targus lithium battery for the converter and it lasts for hours in the field and both have ac adapters.

I will upgrade to the Marshall HD on camera monitor after I've re-couped some of my 30 grand investment.

Good luck!

Kendall,

This is Tom McKay from VariZoom. The VariZoom 7" monitor may not be up to the standard you desire. We do however have a new SWIT series 8" HD monitor the S-1080. It really is very impressive and was well received at NAB. I believe we have a demo from NAB that you could purchase with some discount.

The demo has a V-Mount but I also have models available that accept the Panasonic HVX battery and the JVC Hd100 battery

The demo will still cost more than double the amount of the standard definition 7
It comes with a hard case and hood.

Please call Monday if you have some interest.

Tom McKay
