Varicam Rental in CDN $

[Loki]

I am going to start looking into the cost of renting a Panasonic Varicam for a max 4 Day shoot.

I figured I would drop a message here first and see if anyone knows of a basic rental cost.

basic I mean like...

- Camera body
- 1 Zoom Lens
- Tripod

something like that. All the prices I have ever seen for Varicam rentals have been in US dollars and not practical.

my ideal package for a rental would be something like this:

- Varicam Body
- 1 HD Zoom Lens
- Tripod
- HD Monitor
- DVCPRO-HD VTR (or perhaps I might just pipe the footage to a laptop through FCP..)

any have experience renting this camera? I want to take a step up from my DVX for my next production.

any info would be helpful.

I am off now to search and scour the net.

I can get a Varricam package in Toronto for about $900 a day.

If you're looking in Toronto, try Sim Video or DJ Woods Prod.
