(I know this is probably a repeat, tried searching, feel free to point me to other threads.)
Filming a commercial and using HD for the first time.
Here is some details in short:
-3 :30 commercial spots
-Pany Varicam
-Wanting to shoot in 720p 24
-Final Cut Pro 5.1.4, Quad G5 PPC, 4.5 Gb Ram, Kona LHe w/ BOB, Sonnet eSATA 2.5 Tb.
-Will have deck for capture (not sure model?)
-Output for broadcast will be Beta SP (unfortunately, not reeeally sure why we are shooting HD? Client wants it basically.)
-Master out to DCVPro HD tape and DVD for B-up
(Let me know if I left anything out.)
I just have a couple questions and wondering if anyone can give me any tips or tricks for the post work-flow process.
-Which 24 should I use if the ending result will be broadcasted on TV? 24p or 24pa?
-Does Varicam record 24p as 59.94 actually?
-Which capture preset would be appropriate?
-Should I edit in HD timeline then Copy and paste into SD and scale down?
I guess that is all I have right now. If any of you have anything to add that would be great. Thank you very much for your help.
