Varavon Birdycam 3 Axis Brushless Gimbal: My Video Review

My long awaited Varavon Birdycam came in the mail a week ago and I finally had a chance to play with it yesterday afternoon.

I've put together a quick look review to run you through the different operation modes and talk a bit about build quality and my first impressions. It's pretty good so far! There are tests shots later in the video, starting around 4:45 mark.

Balancing was a breeze. Easier than balancing a Steadicam Pilot.

I can't say yet whether it can really replace a good Steadicam like the Pilot, but it can certainly do things that the Pilot won't be able to like hanging out of vehicles.

I hope to have a second, more detailed review put together once I have more shooting time with it. I'd like to compare and contrast the different types of shots you can and cannot do versus a traditional Steadicam. I haven't seen many direct comparisons of 3 axis systems to Steadicam in the wild.

Any questions, please ask! Anyone else jumping on to the 3 Axis Gimbal Bandwagon? What are your experiences so far?
