Theo Van Gogh, Dutch Indy Filmmaker and descendant of Theo Van Gogh, the brother of Vincent, was murdered in 2004 for making a short documentary about the abuse of women in Islamic societies.

See the film he was murdered for here ...

Actor Steve Buscemi is acting/directing 3 remakes of Van Gogh's film, the first of which is Interview.

Lets show support for our silenced brethren and see the film/s.

I remembering hearing about this in 2004. I saw the film once and don't see any reasoning for his murder. Filmmakers have a right to write and film whatever they damn please. If I don't like a film I just don't watch it simple as that.

Anyway, i'm with you, Alex. I will definately support these films.

I actually work at his production company: COLUMN FILM.
It's in Amsterdam and I do some random stuff mostly as a parttime editor.
The first film "INTERVIEW" (STEVE BUSCEMI directing and acting, also Sienna Miller...) has just been released in NY and LA.
They just wrapped "BLIND DATE" (STANLEY TUCCI directing and acting, also Patricia Clarkson...) which was shot in Belgium (nearby The Netherlands) aiming for a late 2007 release. And the last film in the trilogy will be 1-900 (probably JOHN TURTURRO directing and acting) and that film will also be shot in Europe, later this year.

Ton of gratitude for sharing. Glad to know the company is still operational. Give my greetings to all.
