V6 proglem

I try to set the capture drive, it doesn't allow me and it hangs, have to push the reset button. why? :shocked:

like setting the drive for capturing to F: or E: it just hangs.....

does anyone notice V6 is like the old premiere? when starting up... slow and sluggish with weird windows popping up..... :(
 
V6 definitely has a slower boot than V5; it's because of the new media manager.

However, you shouldn't be having problems setting a capture drive. I have V6 set up on a couple of machines and freely switch between drives, including a shared external. I'd do a check of your system and make sure everything is running properly.
 
And, if you don't want to use the media manager (and the SQL Server that it starts on your system...grrr....), you don't have to.

You can turn it off in Options | Preferences on the General tab.

Saves some time and Windows resources.
