V-Mount batteries

I couldn't find my answer on google so I might as well just ask here. Hope it's not a stupid question.

If I bought a V-Mount plate to power a rig, will any old V-Mount Battery work? Are there any specifications that might make some models or brands not work properly on a certain V-Mount plate? I don't have much experience with this type of batteries before, so if there's any tips you feel like adding on the subject, feel welcome.

Any battery that is v-mount should work, but there are some situations where cheap knock off v-mount batteries you buy from China say may not be enough to power your camera, I only know if this happening with RED cameras but who's to say it might not happen with others. Best thing is to stick with good brand name batteries in my opinion.
