V for Vendetta

This movie looks awesome, and the Wachowski's aren't directing, they are producing and co-wrote the screenplay.

I think you don't have anything to worry about either way...

Huge Alan Moore fan. Looking forward to this film and was saddened to hear that The Watchmen has essentially been shelved. Sorry you didn't get to make it Jubal....

It's the Wachowski brothers . . . while a Matrix-y style could fit the material, after the last two Matrix movies, I have reason to worry . . .

.

Don't you mean the Wachowski brother and sister? :) Yeah, I'm pretty excited about this, but not sure about the casting choice. Elrond?!!! Or am I wrong that Hugo Weaving is the lead?

According to IMDb, you’re right. But considering you should never see V’s face, seems like an odd role an established actor would want to take.

V speaks though right? Weaving has a great voice and great delivery! He is very underrated, if he isn't V (there has been some specualtion that he is not) I think he could play a table and he'd still kick ass.

I definatly can't wait for this film. it opens up next friday. i love natalie portman. hugo weaving is an awesome actor. can't wait to see the look that the W brothers do with it. the trailers look awesome. cant wait to see how good of a director james mctiegue(sp?) will be.

i'm seeing it opening day and will definatly come back and post my review.

countin down the days!

I have an equal mix of anticipation and dread.

There are SO many ways to go wrong here . . .

And the W brothers found most of them in the Matrix sequels.

Of course, they wrote this script before they did those.

So, we hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

the original script was rewritten i do believe so yeah i guess one could worry about that...

i may have too high of hopes and i really hope i'm not let down with it.

I noticed the character of Adam Susan is not in the cast list.

This doesn't fill me with confidence.

i havent gotten the graphic novel yet so i don't know who that is. i plan on reading the novel before i see the movie though so i can objectively compare the movie to the novel

I'm hoping it will be an awesome film. I like that Natalie is starting to go for more edgy roles. I felt sorry for the poor girl during the Star Wars movies.

Yes yes yes! Me too. I liked V for Vendetta, and I've never met anyone who read The Watchmen and didn't cream in their jeans like I did...AMAZING book.

I am excited for V for Vendetta, I feel like it won't be too hard to get it near the book -- so I'm hoping they go and DO THAT for a change, am I right? It is a cool book, and to mash it up would be sad.

As for The Watchmen I hold it in too high regard to have it come out with all of these comic movies, only to be rushed. Every other movie is a comic movie now.

I liked V, but I'm glad it's coming out first. Watchmen is a BEAST, and it better be a BEAST of a movie if it's ever made.

i just got From Hell, V For Vendetta, and Watchmen today. Going to read them all this weekend LOL. I've already seen From Hell but i'm going to read the graphic novel then go back and rewatch it.

Watchmen is getting made into a movie soon. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409459/

I read an article in the new Total Film Magazine that it's gone through some rewrites and a couple of directors and Alan Moore basically said that the trouble with the script was that the graphic novel was too complex and too good to turn into a movie.

the problem with alan moore is that after From Hell and the other movie that was based on his stuff flopped he didnt want ANYTHING of his made into a movie. at least he didn't want to be involved with it...

but i think we all can respect that -- especially with Watchmen being the Encyclopedia that it is -- i'm glad he's being cautious, what with movies like daredevil and all of that junk happening.
