Is the B+W 72mm Digital 486 UV-/IR-Blocking Filter worth the extra $$ for a "put it on and leave it" protective barrier for my HPX170 lens? Or are you going to get the same result (better/worse) from a less expensive B+W 72mm UV 010 (MRC) Haze?
For a leave it on you really want a clear. A UV will change your look in open outdoors, it may look better mostly, but times you may want standard look. Tastes vary. If your not having trouble with IR contamination don't worry about the IR version.
