Using vegas to do stuff to still pics...

I don't have Photoshop and get irritated trying to make Gimp do what I want it to do. If I import an image to Vegas and color correct/crop etc, then save it as a jpeg, will I be breaking any rules? image degradation? This would be for a website.
 
For website, you're probably fine, as it's all 72dpi, but you'll have the least compression saving it as a PNG image vs. JPEG ... though the JPEG is going to be smaller file size & more compatible for web, IMO.
