Using two wireless lavs

I'll be shooting a run-and gun doc in a few weeks and, unfortunately, don't have the resources for a proper sound recordist. I'm planning on using two wireless lavs for my two main subjects.

They may be walking side by side or they may embrace and hug when they first see each other in public places. Are there any issues I may have to consider if they get too close? Should I consider recording lots of extra "room tone" to get ambient sound to mix in later as, with no mixer, I will only have two channels on the DVX100A. In a perfect world I would have a shotgun boom or use an on-camera shotgun mic to record a third channel with more ambiance.

Any thoughts on other issues I should consider?

Many thanks in advance.

might be that extra room tone would be good to feel in places you will have mudded ambiance becouse mikes placement under clothes .
you don't have to do it in the same time and the same place if you don't have time but if you have extremely unique audio atmosphere ( subway, airport, Coffey shop, ets) you better do it straight after you finished the scene.
if you do it later just keep the street tone as close to what you did have on your shot .
if it very quiet eneveirment separate the mike from the camcorder when you run the ambiance , if it a urban noise you wouldn't probably hear the camera at all .run at least the time you would have the sequence on the screen .
if you have really long shots run at least 2-3 minutes .
later you can blend it with music , narration and the actual dialog to get reacher audio track.

That was along my line of thinking, get room tone to add in later. Sometimes you just need someone to confirm your thoughts. Especially since I'm much more familair with camera than sound.

Thanks.

You should have no problem if the lavs get close together. Also, you'll probably pick up some ambient sounds from the lavs during the dialog. But record the ambient sound any way, just in case you want more.
