Using the Film Effects in V8

Can I use the grain without getting the scratches? I think that this is very good grain so I want to add some to all of my footage but I def don't need the scratches
 
Go to the dropdown menu below the grain -- you can select each type of effect and check or uncheck the "enable effects" box. If you disable one, though, I'd suggest also moving the slider to 0.
 
Yea, I noticed that, but I was worried cause the scratches would show even after I un-checked it... apparently all I had to do is play an other section of the timeline and then it would go away
