Using skylight or UV filter on Nikon primes?

Is there any problem with using skylight or UV filters to protect the front elements of my Nikon primes that I use with my DVX and Redrock adapter?

If you don't have a lens caps, then any cheap filter would protect the lens during storage. If you mean during a shoot, then yes, many use these, but get a good quality filter.
