Using Sekonic L-758DR help

Using the meter in its most basic function is very simple, though if that is all you are using it for, then there was no reason for you to spend that much on the 758 as a much more basic model would've fit your needs.

Incident metering is done by selecting the half dome image on the right viewfinder, either lowering or raising the globe at the top by rotating the ring, and pressing the side activator button to get your reading. Make sure you have held down the ISO button and rotated the dial to get your selected ISO, as well as turned the dial alone to get your proper frames per second that you are shooting.

For spot metering, simply turn the viewfinder dial to the blue arrow, and aim with your eye through the viewfinder at the selection you want to meter, then press the activator button, viola, you have your spot reading.

Thanks a lot... I really got it because it came highly recommended, and I was told a meter is a must in lighting and setup. What advanced functions are you speaking of exactly?
