I just bought a DVX 100A package online which includes a telephoto lense and a wide angle with a filter kit. The problem is , the wide angle cant fit on the camera...no matter what i do...I removed the lense cap and it just doesnt fit. The telephoto lense was able to screw on but when i look through the view finder, there is a black ring showing. I can only screw on the filters onto the telephoto not the camera or the wide angle. I was able to screw on the wide angle lense just on the telephoto...Does it even make sense? Have i been duped. The package was $3500. Please tell me how to fix this problem without sending back my camera. I need to shoot in afew days.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

Sounds like you've got a variety of lens diameters. DVX is 72mm. The black ring you describe is the sides of the telephoto lens vignetting. What brand are these lenses and filters?

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

0.5x Super Wide angle Panaramic,72 mm mount
Filter kit is 72 mm
For the telephoto the brand is Digital Optics of 62 mm or Series 7.
2.5X Pro High definition- Thats the one that fits.

Does Panasonice come in 62 mm?

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

You mean does the DVX come in 62mm?

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

Yes...does it? because the 62mm telephoto was the one able to screw on...the 72mm filters and wide angle wouldnt

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

Nope. It's only 72mm. Something fishy happened with your order. :-/

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

I dont get it at all....does it mean i paid $3500 for fake stuff?
B and Y distributing www.digitalcorp.com
i bought it online...

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

I'm not saying you got fake stuff. All I'm saying is that SOMETHING is not right, if your 72mm lenses are not fitting on your 72mm camera. From the looks of it, they are not authorized by Panasonic. I would try to contact them.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

The lenses that say 72 mm doant fit but the one that is 62mm was able to screw on...I think it means that my DVX is 62mm ...can that happen? I already freaking out because i am supposed to shoot in a few days.

Thato

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

First... deep breaths. Second, I would say that it's more likely that your lenses are marked incorrectly. Take it down to a camera shop, ask to see a 72mm lens and see if it screws on.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

I think thats what i will do tommorow morning. They told me it comes with US warranty buit there wasnt anything like that and they said it comes with soft case but it never showed even when i persistently called them...
Thanks for answering me questions man.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

Not a problem. Be sure to come back and update us on the situation. Also check back later tonight, someone else might have some ideas as to what the problem is.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

Yes my package was $3600....I should have known better...i am returing it

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

I would suggest purchasing from EVS once you get your money back.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

I hope you can return it. I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but their website is very clear about returns. They don't do refunds, and exchanges will be made for defective merchandise only. I am trying to just get a refund on my lenses, since they don't work with the camera. If I learn anything, I'll let you know.

Re: Using screwable Lenses on DVXA

I'm still doing research, and talking to a lawyer, but you might want to hit them with false advertising in reference to the Warranty. Check the ebay page for the auction and see if it says anything about a warranty. The invoice I got from them claims they supply a manufacturers warranty with merchandise. Panasonic e-mailed me today stating officially that they are not authorized dealers, hence can not offer or give you a warranty. I don't remember what my auction page said and they only access them for 60 days after an auction. I should have printed it out, but I didn't. Anyway, that's what I would do if they won't give you a refund.
