Using Proxies in Edius

Hello everyone,

I am using Edius Neo that came with my HMC150. I was wondering if there is a way to import my avchd files, convert them to an editable proxy format and then replace the proxies with the original avchd files? I have tried deleting or renaming the folder where the proxies are and then linking the missing files to the avchd files, and this works but it is time consuming as I have to link every single file individually. Is there an easier way to do this?

Thanks,

Hunter

You can use the AVCHD2HQ to convert the files if you want to use those. Also Neo has a booster upgrade that is supposed to allow multiple track native AVCHD editing. I think the price will be $49. It is out now in Japan and should be in the US a the end of Nov.

If you want to continue what you are doing, try opening the clip restoration dialog box and you should be able to relink all of them at once using the folder restore

Thanks for the response. My proxies are in Canopus HQ SD. Just wanted to skip another transcoding step when going to HD for output. Also, editing multiple streams of HD gets slow on my old computer. Thats why I convert to SD, because its so much faster to edit.

I have also tried folder restore, but it doesn't work with files of a different format. The only way to do it is to relink every file manually.

I think this should be the same in Neo. In the restore dialog box the is a setting ignore file extension. If you select it you can restore to any format you want.
