I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with this. I'm moving into the color correction phase of a project I've been working on, and right now I don't have a proper monitor. The footage is all 720p 24 from an HVX200. Unfortunately funds are tight these days, so I can't afford an HD monitor. However, I was wondering if a 42 inch Plasma TV would be acceptable to use as a monitor if I set it up and callibrated it properly.
I don't most of my correction by reading the scopes anyway, but I like to have a good idea of the final output while I'm doing it.
One other question, for getting the video into the plasma, what do you guys think of running the firewire through my hvx to the hd component out, and into the plasma? My other option is putting another video card in my mac and using the dvi output and digital cinema preview.
