Using other panasonic batteries

Hi folks,

I think I'm being over caucious here, but thought I'd seek a couple of opinions.

Before I had my lovely, preeeeety, beauuutifulll HVX, I had a (at the time equally lovely, pretty and beautiful (to me)) NV-MX 350.

Now, it seems to me that I could use the battery I had for that camera.

Firstly, it fits. Panasonic have kept their standard socket.

Secondly, both operate at 2.2v

I can't see any reason why this would not work as an emergency back up battery - but if any of you guys want to issue me warnings or encouragment before I plug it in - I'm all ears.

word to your mum.

ha.. yes Ted, that WAS a typo - well spotted.

So indeed.. that should be - both operate at 7.2v

foolish foolish foolish!

If they are the same form factor, no problem, just plug them in. Compare the charge capacities, if your older batteries are less than 5400mah, they would not last that long on one charge.

Batterie 7,5 V, 5400mA last 15 minutes !

Batterie 7,5 V, 5400mA last 15 minutes !

Hello,
With my new HVX200, in P2 position, about 15 minutes shooting, one message on the viewer warns me that the batterie will be out within 2 minutes.
Is it normal ?
Thanks

Did you charge it fully, until the red light on the charger went off?
Normally the battery should last a minimum of two hours.

the 2 minutes left

the 2 minutes left

Hello,
Thanks for your help. I have charged it fully...
I just find how stupid I was : the 2 minutes left displayed in the viewer was the 2 minutes left of the P2 card !!!
Best regards
Cooki

cheers adolgin,

yeah, it's quite a small battery, but I was thinking about keeping it around as an emergency backup.

However, I think it's just time to buy a couple of spares ;)
