Using Music

Seems that music I have in my iTunes Library or bought from the iTunes music store cannot be used in a FCP project. However if I go and illegally download some songs using a different program then import them into FCP they will play with no problem. There are some projects, like family vacations or stuff I want to use for DEMO reels or whatever that I want to use some upbeat songs and I also have to get the songs the illegal way sad to say.

Now I will add, that I do have soundtrack and have the ability of creating my own songs that work well in FCP.

To use music from iTunes:

convert mp3's to aiff or .wav and than import into fcp

for music purchased in iTunes. I import the song into iMovie, export (share) as an audio file and than import into FCP.

If you have quicktime pro than you might be able to use that too
