Using Matte boxes indoors...

I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any cons with using a matte box indoors. I don't see how there would be, but just want to make sure. Thanks.

The only con I've come across is the mattebox physically getting in the way of the shot. I guess, also, if you're doing handheld, aren't using filters, and flair isn't a problem, then taking it off would decrease the total weight of the rig.

Alright, so inconvieniece of size is really the only problem?? Sounds like I will just keep it on all the time then considering its very light weight.

One thing is it getting in the way of lighting for very close, tight shots, depending on the size of the box w/ flags.

I got the HD IndieSnap, and love it, but may not be able to use it for the purpose I got it.

I got it for the Sutherland effect (Keifer would only approve of digital for 24 if the DP got a big matte box for him to act for) as my lead girl has some emotional scenes and she didnt want to look at my mug over the lens of the camera. Turns out, when we get to that scene the box will probably be in the way of the lighting. I'll have to get really creative.

All in all, though, the main reason I got the box was the Sutherland Effect and the Wow Effect. That cam looks like a film cam with the big box in front and a 7" 16:9 monitor behind all mounted on a FigRig. Looks impressive and gives the actors something to act to that doesnt look like a Aunt Edna's Handicam.

Just me though.
