Using Livetype to make Demo Reel...

Is there a way to build and design your own textures? Would I need a whole other software program to do that with? I want to put together my demo reel using livetype...has anyone done this? Imported pre edited material from FCP into LT and made a Demo reel complete with textures, text, and video clips? I storyboarded how I want it to look on paper, I just have to get all the video clips together and make it happen in LT. Would it be easier or better to make the reel in FCP?

Could you do it the other way around, like import all the filed into a FCP sequence and do it that way? I think it would be a nightmare to try to have Livetype try to render through all of the video stuff as well as the graphics.

I just got Motion, haven't used it yet, but by reading some reviews I bet you would have a better chance of doing it in that.

You need a graphics program like Photoshop to create textures.

What's it a demo reel of? LiveType is for creating titles. FCP is for editing. Normally you'd create title clips in LiveType and import that into FCP to creat your demo reel.

Yea I know but I used LT on a recent project where I had a title sequence which included the name of the event and some other text, then I have 4 small boxes of scaled down video clips playing. I used one of the templates to create it.

The Demo reel will showcase my work as a videographer as well as an editor. It will also showcase other stuff I can do for possible clients as well.

After giving it some thought, I am thinking of doing the texture, text, and effects work in LT then import that .mov file into FCP. Reduce the size of the clips and use that imported file as a background. That may be a better idea.

Does anyone know how to scale down an imported clip or photo image in LT? I made sure that lock positions was unchecked in the Layout menu and that didn't help. The image looks "zoomed in" instead of it being a wide normal shot it is super close. I need to know how to make a wide shot and reduce its size so I can use it with a template. I am having no luck.
