Using gels with the Lowel Pro-light

Hey y'all, I just bought my first light, a Pro-light on eBay. Woo hoo! Now it doesn't come with gels, so I look on B&H and see they have packs of little 5"x6" gels for the Pro-light, as well as a special gel frame for it.

I know that with other lights such as the Arri fresnels, people often don't use gel frames and just C-47 gels to the barn doors. So, Pro-light users, I was wondering, will it work to C-47 those little gels to the little barn doors on the Pro-light, or am I better off getting the special frame as well?

One thing I thought of is, with everything so tiny on the Pro-light, the weight of C-47s on those little barn doors might actually cause them to move. And maybe there are other issues.

Thanks

Na...I had a Pro-Light along with two other Lowels for a while before I got my Arris (by the way, save up for a fresnel as your next light...you'll thank me once you play with it for a while.) Anyway, the kit I got didn't come with a Pro-Light gel frame and I didn't even realize it existed till I read your post. So...moral of the story, C-47s are the way to go. Oh, and the weight issue doesn't really exist. A clothespin weighs maybe an ounce. The doors on the Pro could probably support somewhere to the order of 12 oz or a pound before they went anywhere.
Peace,

-Harry
