Using gels over LED lights.

Just wondering how I would go about gelling LED lights, like the Amaran 672's, for example.

Rare, but I sometimes see those plastic inserts for purchase, but they cost too much and I'm looking for an alternative. I'm wanting to use LED's because I can run them on batteries, but if you have any other suggestion for some smaller battery powered lights that I can gel - please let me know.

The budget hack for replacing the factory insert is getting a gel of the proper color and taking it down to a Kinkos and laminating it. Cut it to size and you're done. It'll last and work great.

you may actualy find filters loose less light than using bi-colour setting or the suplied tungston one. Check transmision of filters. For example Lee 205 (CTO 1/2) is 70% transmision. CTO os 55%. not sure what the suplied one is.
