Using external mic with Zoom H1N on PC?

For Skype/Zoom/GMeet meetings - why is it that when I plug a VideoMicro ►(Mic Line In port, detected as External Mic) ► Zoom H1N ► MicroUSB to PC ► PC, it doesn't record anything?

Seems that I can only use the internal H1N mic instead of any external mic, or am I doing something wrong?

Not sure at all about the switch scheme on your zoom. But "line in" refers to to taking a signal from another device such as a mixer. not a microphone. Your VM does not send the right signal to the recorder to use a line in setting.

If I recall correctly H1n only has one 3.5mm input labeled Mic/Line in. You can connect either and just adjust levels accordingly.

You must be doing something wrong or something in your chain is defective.
Does VideoMicro record to H1n (without being connected to the PC)?
Does H1n with internal mic (without VideoMicro connected) record/transmit signal to the PC?
