Using Effects in Ppro or AE?

I'm trying to understand/learn some advanced features and techniques in Ppro 5.5.
Is it more common to do all effects in AE then the standard built-in
effects in Ppro? Or would you rather try to utilize all of Ppro's effects first before going into AE?

I like doing CC in Ppro (using MBL) then in AE.
Is it preferred to render all motion/lighting/text, etc effects in AE and then import in PPro or dynamically link them?
Would you also prefer to use Trapcode in Ppro or in AE? TQ

It depends of the length of the projekt. Importing a whole documentary in Afx could be quite tricky. We mainly transfer just parts of a session for editing in Afx. But trapcode is just used in Afx in our studios.CheersThomas.

I common edit the project in Premiere, so if i can add some effect or color correction i export this part to After Effects. This scheme, is good because you focus first in make the story have some logic.

My preffered method is to do whatever I can inside of Premiere Pro, just because it's easier doing things in one app. I send to After Effects (or SoundBooth/Audition) only when I can't do what I want inside of PP.

Thanks for the feedback and experiences. My projects are small. I'll try doing as much as i can in Ppro. Will render what i need in AE then import
back into PPro (not DynamicLink method).

Why not dynalink - it's the most useful feature. To be honest, I too try to do things within PP, and just go to AE when the processing is more complex than PP can do. It's just like the titler - it works fine in PP, but there are times when you need photoshop tools, then you dynalink to that and back. Exporting and then loading, processing, rendering and reloading is a waste of resoruces and time?
