Using dimmers with Arri fresnels

Hi Guys ! Wondering if you can help ? I will be shooting a personal project about memories and recollections next month and intend using softlight to create the effect in certain scenes. One of the scenes is in a bedroom; I wish to create a daylight soaked effect. I am looking at trying to emulate a 'Picnic at Hanging Rock/ Barry Lyndon dreamlike world; any suggestions as to what filters I should use to bring out the flesh tones, their will be a lot of white in the room, sheets bed linen etc and its going to get hot in there, I was just wondering if I use dimmers to regulate the intensity will this effect the colour temperature ? Any suggestions please ?

The dimmer the bulb, the warmer it gets, yes.
It's been years since I have seen either film, so I can't comment. I'll guess and say a white, promist filter...???

Yes it will. It'll shift the color temperature toward orange. You'll either need to manually white balance to the new color temperature or use CTB to counteract the effect.

Thanks Guys ! I haven't decided if I want an orange tinge on the characters face or pure daylight will have to decide on this. I definitely want the whites to be soft but bright. Have thought of using the promist to lessen the contrast, thanks for the suggestions.

promist won't lessen the contrast, it will only soften skin detail. Try a tiffen ultra contrast filter to lower contrast levels.
