Using Compressor to Export DVX (Squeeze) Footage

Hey folks,

I'm new to Compressor and I'd like to export some footage that will be viewed only on computers. I'd like two versions.. a full quality (aka large file) version and also a compressed version of lower quality (for smaller file sizes.)

The footage is from a DVX100B using 24p & Squeeze mode (I know, I should have used 24pa but forgot to change the scene file.) It looks correct in FCP. However, as a stab in the dark, I tried QuickTime Uncompressed 10-bit, but the footage didn't come out in the right aspect ratio.

One thing I noticed is that "Show as square pixels" was checked in FCP the entire time. If I deselect that, the Canvas looks like the Uncompressed 10-bit output. However, it only looks correct when "Show as square pixels" is checked. Any ideas where I went wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks!

I think I came up with a solution. While there may be a preset in Compressor to use, I just tried making a few custom settings based off others I liked.

Also, cutting down my sequence into a little 60 sec clip made it much faster to try other presets... a tip from the forums of course :)

From Other Workflows -> Advanced Format Conversions -> HD Uncompressed 10 bit 1080i60, I created my new settings but dropped the resolution down to 1024x576 after selecting Custom (16:9).

From Other Workflows -> Web -> QuickTime 7 compatible -> H.264 LAN Streaming, I created my new settings but changed the Pixel Aspect to Square. Changed the frame size to Custom 16:9 at 640x360.

It seems setting Pixel Aspect to Square is what makes it look right.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction if there are easier ways to do this, or if I'm doing anything wrong.

Thanks!
