I'm helping someone who is using the FS11 camera (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=2544&modelid=16183), which records in MPEG2 .mod files.
Not much info online, and it doesn't seem to be compatible with FCP Log and Transfer, and its also USB. (although strangely enough the camera can be purchased through Apple sites in come countries).
We've been using MPEG streamclip to convert the files to Quicktime at the moment. But it's rather labour intensive, and I'm not convinced that MPEG SteamClip is doing the best compression.
Any thoughts on this? Has anyone created a workflow for this camera? Once I figure it out I might post one as it seems quite a few amateurs as using it.
