Using blur with chroma key

I have a reasonably decent chroma key, now I want to use some blur. It seems that it blurs into black. This does not work well with my background. Ideally I would like an "infinite white" background, but can settle on something less bright, still blurring into black makes an ugly halo around the subject. I tried putting a white media on the track below my chromakeyed track, did not help. Is there any way to control the color that Vegas blurs my chromakeyed subject with?

I would just render it with the chromakey, then import the clip and add the blur to that.

It's not blurring with a color; it's blurring with the alpha channel.

I don't know the answer but chroma blur is the only way Ive been able to key in vegas.

Make sure the Chroma Blur effect is placed before the Chromakey.

??? The Chroma Blur effect can definitely be useful, but all it does (in combination with a later Chroma Key) is smooth the edges of the mask. The Blur control in the Chroma Key effect is entirely different.
