Using blue photobulbs for shoot?

Shooting puppets on an 8' x 4' set, inside, no windows, DVXb. I came across a case of 12 500w photo bulbs w/blue tint that I believe are 4200k. I'm thinking of using them to save $. I understand that these bulbs change color after a couple hours as they head towards their 3 hr lifespan.

My question is, if I only use these bulbs and no other, will I be safe? I've done a few tests and they seem to provide a decent light/look when gelled for diffusion. Can I get away with this if I white balance every time we relight the set? We are only shooting 12 min of content. Or, should I buy a case of (3200k?) bulbs ? Going for a warm look. Do they lose color as they go or is it only the blue as that blue tint burns away? I'm pretty much locked into using the stands/sockets I have.
Thanks

I have a bunch of them here, and have only used them a couple of times, (they are 200 watt). They definitely look yellow compared to daylight, and these 200 watters don't put out enough light to compete with daylight coming through a window.

Better to get some orange gel combined with ND, (it looks dark orange) and put that over the windows, now you can use full strength tungsten lighting, and your now-tungsten daylight is low enough to not overpower your hot lights.

I first saw this on a shoot with Jeffrey Kimball, ASC, who was shooting a commercial up the street from here, and went right out and bought some gel for my own low-budget productions.

Oops, sorry, just noticed you don't have any windows! So fine, just re-white balance to the color of the bulbs every few hours to be sure the color is consistent!
