Using audio only

I wasnt sure whether to post in here or in the Audio section, but it involves Vegas, so...

I need to re-do the audio in a shoot I did on Sunday. I dont need dialogue, just ambient sounds/noise. I cannot use the audio that was recorded along with the video for background conversation reasons. My question is, can I take my camera back to the location, run it for however long (similar to getting room tone, I guess), capture the clip(s) in Vegas and delete the video, then edit the audio as I would a video track to provide sound for sections of my project?

I hope that was clear. I just confused myself. :-/

Re: Using audio only

Yes. That's very possible. When you capture your clip, bring it onto the timeline like normal. Click on it and hit the "u" key to ungroup the audio and the video. You can then delete the video for that clip while keeping the audio.

Sure. You can also select just the audio from your clips in the trimmer.
