Running into an issue with number of PCI slots in my Mac Pro. I have an older Mac Pro sitting beside it that doesn't get much use. So I'm wondering if I can utilize it in some way.
My down and dirty question is: Can I hook up the the older Mac Pro in some way and utilize the pci slots? Which connection would be best? FW, Ethernet, something else?? I would like to avoid copying files to and from the Mac Pro.
I just feel like there's some way to trick the Mac Pro into seeing the other cards in the old machine and be able to use them. I may be totally wrong but that's where you guys come in.
I know of these options/limitations already:
-pci expansion boxes (I have no budget for this, so any of those options are out)
-use a monitor splitter to control both Mac Pros (Not really what I'm getting at)
-I know you can't combine computing power to make a super-computer (again, not what I'm getting at.)
