using a lens adapter...

i have just purchased a dvc30 and now am going to purchase a wide angle lens... my current wide angle for my camera is .43 at 37 mm so i need a new lens but want something around .43 cuz that was good for what i was using it for. the dvc30 has a 43mm lens and im having trouble finding "cheap" wide angles in that size (under 100$) but i can find some for 46, 49 and 52 mm for a great price. would there be any down side in using a bigger mm lens with ona thos lens adapter rings that sizes it down to the correct size? what size should i go with of those 3? and will i see a black ring around the edges? also where could i find 43mm wide angle under 100$ that are .43ish?

I don't see a problem though I couldn't tell you for sure on that camera. As far a cheap have you tried ebay. I have bought a wide there before fairly cheap.
