Using a 35mm adapter - entire shoot or select scenes?

I'm planning to shot a few shorts on either high-end consumer (Panny TM900) or prosumer (Sony FX7) with a 35mm adapter. The scripts have a few spots where a nice rack focus will really help with the story. Should I shoot the entire short thru the 35mm adapter? Or is it fine to just shoot the specific scenes where I need shallow DOF with the adapter and the rest via the camcorder lens?

Will I have trouble combining the adapter and non-adapter footage?

Yes you would have trouble.Film entire thing with adapter on.Why not testing it first so you know that Im and people who gonna answer after me are right ?

Aside from the slightly different look between the stock lens and the 35mm lenses the adapter will add a grain that won't match the non-adapter footage.

Alternatively you should be able to achieve a rack focus with the bare camera by getting up close to the near subject and using a focal length in the telephoto range and a wide open aperture (use ND to adjust exposure). A 2x telephoto adapter might help but shouldn't be necessary.
